Phascogales and Chainsaw Hollows information session

Chainsaws are rarely associated with protecting habitat and animals – but that is exactly what’s been happening around Nillumbik recently. Chainsaw hollows have been carved in certain trees to provide homes for one of Victoria’s most elusive and vulnerable marsupials, the Brush-tailed Phascogale. Distinguished by its black bushy tail, this species has been found in Strathewen, St Andrews, Christmas Hills, Watsons Creek and Kangaroo Ground. It can also be found in smaller populations in Eltham, Arthurs Creek, Cottles Bridge and North Warrandyte. Come along to this informative session and find out about the work being done to protect this vulnerable species Morning tea provided.
